Creating so many "following" apps

Have you seen the vast amount of "social networking" sites there are?  People are switching to e-based following than rather having normal conversations.  Picture this:

(Old Way)
Person1: Oh Hey Mark, How are you?  How was your trip to the Bahamas?
Mark: Excellent!  You should see my pictures, here (shows pictures).

(New Way)
Me: @Mark went to the Bahamas
Me: @Mark is now home in California
Person1: @Mark Welcome back

With this new introduction of Google Buzz, "the twitter killer" hah now just another way for people to follow.  I just started to get Twitter.

Life

Starting life in new places is always difficult.  You need to find new friends and new places to go.  It's great to explore, but you always wonder what its like to go back to somewhere you went to school or even your home town!  For me my life has always been on the go.  I'm always far away from people I love the most.  Now my parents are 3 hours ahead of me.  By the time I get back from work/gym they are getting ready for bed.  It's different!  Beth is far away too!  Now 2 hours ahead and starting her new busy life without me...it makes me quite sad.  *tear*

People back in the Midwest amaze me.  Granted I'm from the East Coast, I'm still amazed how stuck in a bubble people are.  "The Midwest is all that", well what about the rest of the US!  There is SO many things to explore!  The way of life out on the coast is way different than that in the midwest...people have got to see it.

I think the west coast is great.  Why? At least for me its where the technology is.  New innovation.  Don't you remember that I'm always the "nerdy" guy.  Hell, I was a president of a ELECTRICAL ENGR FRAT HAHA...how much more nerdier can you get =].  l33t

Hopefully this distance will bring us closer not farther.  Hopefully the future will be bright and full of opportunities.  Or maybe I'm just hoping too much.
